What kind of musical instrument is this?
It's the size of a ukulele. Has 13 strings. 8 short thin strings going toward the top and 5 heading a cross and up its neck. It's shape is most like a violin.

Mejustme88 No, that's not it. It's also really thick. I would say maybe a foot deep. Mr PantsFellDown That's not a standard instrument. Meaning it's not one that most people would recognize. In fact, it looks like something a Mongolian might have played 200 years ago....something like that. or it could be a Greek antique, or Turkish... -
