Why I am getting such high ping in Minecraft?
I usually get an average of fifteen ping on Minecraft. Now, I get 500+ ping. Why is that, and how do I fix it? Could my executing a shaders mod JAR file recently be why?

You could try install MC on a virtual machine on the same box and see if your pings are high. If not, you would know it's the install or the shaders and not the network or the box.
