How can something be infinity if you can see the end of it ?

1-30-2017 There are two definitions for 'infinity' and people generally ignore both of them. In math it is defined as a number bigger than you are able to measure. So if you only have a 12 inch ruler and something is 13 inches away, that is infinity. The longest ruler we have is the Earth's orbit, and by triangulation we can accurately measure things out to about 3200 light-years away. Beyond that is infinity, but there is always some dingbat who thinks he can get around laws of the universe by careful design. But if you look at sizes of the biggest stars, you will see that beyond 3200 LY the error estimates get rather large.
