  • Athough by the labor laws, an employee must not allow an employee to work over 40 hours or over 8 hours per day, a contract can be signed between the employer and employee to compensate for the time worked in excess of the specified hours. A typical male worker will work from 1 to 2 hours overtime a day while a receptionist will usually go home at the set hours. However, female workers that are part of sales or management will work along side with their male counterparts and work a 50 to 60 hour week.
