At the beggining of pirates of the caribean 3, did the kid who was about the be hanged have braces?

I thought so too! However, I think it was just dirty teeth. Apparently some of the other characters had that too. Why did he even have to be in there?

well the reason they showed the kid was to show that the pirates were cruel.. duh. And no the kid didnot have braces.. why would they put a kid with braces in?? they could have easily picked someone with out them ergo.. no braces
