World wide? I couldn't find anything but my best guess is somewhere in Mongolia. The climate is acutely continental and dry: winter is severe, spring is dry and cold, and summer is warm. The annual temperature range is considerable, with average lows in January reaching -40° F (-40° C) and average highs in July climbing to 113° F (45° C); daily temperature ranges also can be quite large. http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-47954/Gobi I'll say Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Fairbanks Alaska has a range of 160F (~90C) between summer and winter. Winter temperatures can dip to below -60F (-51C) while summer temperatures can reach 100F (38C). This temperature range can be easily varified (http://www.wrcc.dri.edu/cgi-bin/cliMAIN.pl?akfair). You will be hard pressed to find any city in the world that has a greater temperature swing!

Please check, Yakutsk (pop.220.000), Sakha Republic, Russia where a range is from -65C(-85F) in winter to +39C (+103F) in summer. I know it for sure as I've been living there all my life. I love my city. During winter it drops below -50C (-60F) every year in December, January and February, even I remember it was -63C (-81F) in December 1996. But in summer it exceeds +30C (+87F) every year in June, July and August, I've been cycling when it was +38C (+101F) many times. With Regards, Vissarion Gotovtsev
