It was a song my Dad used to sing to me. I don't know what the name is but it went like this: I went to the animal fair The birds & the beasts were there The old racoon, in the light of the moon Was combing his auburn hair The monkey, he got drunk And sat on the elephant's trunk The elephant sneezed And went to his knees And that was the end of the Monk Monk Monk! He sang it to my daughter when she was little, and I now sing it to my granddaughter. Of course, you have to do the "knee-bounce" thing along with it. LOL

***Frère Jacques Frère Jacques, Frère Jacques, Dormez-vous? Dormez-vous? Sonnez les matines! Sonnez les matines! Din, dan, don. Din, dan, don. A translation of the French lyrics is: Are you sleeping, Are you sleeping, Brother John? Brother John? Morning bells are ringing, Morning bells are ringing. Ding, dang, dong. Ding, dang, dong. ***Raindrops keep falling on my head Raindrops keep fallin' on my head And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed Nothin' seems to fit Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin' So I just did me some talkin' to the sun And I said I didn't like the way he got things done Sleepin' on the job Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin' But there's one thing I know The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep fallin' on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red Cryin's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin' Because I'm free Nothin's worryin' me It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep fallin' on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red Cryin's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin' Because I'm free Nothin's worryin' me

This was always one of my favorites: Puff, the Magic Dragon Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee. Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff, oh Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee. Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee. Together they would travel on boat with billowed sail Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name, oh Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee. Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee. A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys Painted wings and giants's rings make way for other toys. One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar. His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane. Without his lifelong friend, Puff could not be brave So, Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave, oh Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee. Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee It has always stuck with me because it was the first song that introduced me to the idea that people really didn't live forever.
