How does one set the default value of a cell in Excel?

I can only assume that you want particular cells to have a pre-determined, yet editable, value. If that's the case enter all the information that you want to see in the future and then use the File... Save As... menu item to save as a template. On future occasions that you want to use the template go to the File... New menu item and select your template. Note that you can't just click the new workbook toolbar button because this just opens a new workbook based on the default template. Have a look at some of the templates that are already available from the menu. If this hasn't answered your question give me a bit more information on what you want to achieve.
