  • I don't know a lot about Van Gogh, but Don McLean's song about him is one of the most beautiful and poignant tribute songs ever written, and thoroughly deserving of its commercial success. Can you imagine anything as well-written and musicianly as that being a big hit in this day and age? I can't.
