  • Coming to America is a 1988 comedy film directed by John Landis. The screenplay was written by David Sheffield, Barry W. Blaustein, and Eddie Murphy, based on an idea and an original script by Art Buchwald. Murphy joined James Earl Jones, Arsenio Hall and Madge Sinclair in starring roles. It's a play, not a real place. • Is the Congo a dance? It's a nice pseudo African name that elegantly rolls of the tongue. I am an expert in geography and know every African nation and many of the tribal areas as well. I would place it somewhere by the Gold Coast because there are lots of small nations there.
