  • I think that a pot belly pig is probably the smallest; but is not actually small just smaller than most other pigs. I had one once; his name was Pearl. He was cute but very smelly. We kept him out side. He was alright but I still prefer a dog instead.
  • Intelligence Pigs are generally considered to be one of the more intelligent animals on the planet, being compared to dogs. In one study conducted by a Pennsylvania State University professor, two pigs were taught to play rudimentary video games by manipulating a joy stick with their snouts while being rewarded with sweets. It has been shown that a pig's mood can be determined by its tail, if the tail is tightly coiled, the pig is happy. If the tail is hanging limp however, the pig is unhappy. According to a pig farmer featured on the television show Dirty Jobs, pigs dislike walking up, or walking down, any sort of stairs. During parts of that episode, pigs were seen being contained in an area not with fences, but with a single step. All pigs have the same intellegence , lol they would not really make a great pet because Pigs harbour a range of parasites and diseases that can be easily transmitted to humans. These include trichinosis, cysticercosis, and brucellosis. Very commonly, pigs are also known to host large concentrations of parasitic ascarid worms in their digestive tract. The presence of these diseases and parasites is one of the main reasons why pork meat should always be well cooked or cured before eating. Pigs are extremely susceptible to pneumonia, usually caused by weather. Pigs have small lungs; for this reason, bronchitis or pneumonia can kill a pig quickly. Pigs can be aggressive and pig-induced injuries are relatively common in areas where pigs are reared or where they form part of the wild or feral fauna. Domestic pigs are often inbred, leading to the expression of recessive traits. Congenital malformations are common. One such malformation is the duplication of a pig's head.
  • Pigs are supposed to make very good pets they are very intelligent and a bit like a well behaved puppy, they do tend to grow rather large but if you could get the runt of a littler it may stay smaller
  • Not really. Even the so-called small pot bellied pigs can grow quite large. I know a lady who has a couple. She has many animals in fact. It looks like she should be building an ark soon. However, I should add that they don't make good INDOOR pets. They are fine outside. Hers were in the house until they just kept growing and growing. They would get excited and run around the house knocking things over. She is very wealthy and has a lot of valuables. She basically couldn't afford to keep them as inside pets any longer.
  • not sure since ive never had one as a pet
