Because the "It's only a game" comes out like a "sour grapes" reaction when loosing. It you are winning, you won't down rate your "conquest". It is just a typical human reaction

They always thank Jesus and God when they're winning too but never when they lose. The euphoria of victory fires up peoples egos and they get lost in the excitement. I got that from a comedy act on Comedy Central.
