Double A batteries seem to be the most popular battery size around my house. Not only do ALL the remotes for TV's, VCR's, cable-boxes use them, but also some of the little stuff uses them like the toys and games of a child's. Single A is often rarely sold, but it once was a major battery type. C often replaced the single A many years ago(20+) and later the most popular one became the Double A. Triple A came in and tried, but couldn't last with the over-emphasis of things that took Double A. So, my answer is Double A.(AA)
