  • He ( or she ) wouldn't. It's only when you toss religion into the mix that people start being so judgmental.
  • They shouldn't, because it's none of their business.
  • This is why children shouldn't be indoctrinated into religion. These people are like brainwashed puppets, turned in to blatant bigots. And the sad part is that they are people who have power and influence.
  • There are hardly any real conservatives in America. And I'd more than likely support a moderate conservative platform, but when religion enters the arena, moderation goes out the window.
  • By framing your question the way you have, you are simply saying that conservatives have higher morals than others. I don't particularly agree with that statement.
  • The issue: Gay marriage The problem: Tony loves George and so Tony tells his boss that George needs to be covered by a health care plan provided by a Christian employer running a business. The issue: Common law marriages The problem: William lives with Jan for so long that they are now legally married. William leaves Jan and Jan turns around and sues William for alimony. Neither one pays court fees and costs. The issue: Prostitution The problem: Mary has AIDS, and so then does everyone she sleeps with that goes home to their spouse. I am sure there are more reasons to be against frivolous f*cking, but it is not a conservative's fault that people think that burdening society with their sex lives and personal relationships is just fine.
  • Only a real conservative would care, they are the most uptight narrow mind segment of the population. Besides gay's do not produce children which can be exploited as troops or slaves.
  • Jealousy. Someone ELSE is getting laid.
  • I am a conservative and I am supportive of any couples privacy and rights to marry and right to happiness.
  • Because there are ALWAYS people who have to have their noses in everyone elses Business .. +5
  • I am a real conservative and I don't give a f#ck who marries who or what. +4
  • I got it! = It's the girl's father? - ;-)
  • Proposition 8 passed in California which is the most liberal state in the union. It would take more than just conservatives to do that with them being in the minority. Liberals are just as hung up about what consenting adults do as conservatives are. Anyone who thinks liberals don't have gay bias or prejudices isn't paying attention.
  • A good question......why should they?
  • Oh brother, here goes. I am a conservative and a Christian. I accept that consenting adult can live their lives as they so choose, but please do not give me an in your face attitude. Marriage has always been defined as the union of a man and a woman. For most or maybe even some, it is a covenent relationship between the couple and God. so, if your concerned about legal rights, go find another venue or word and stop trying to re-define marriage to suit your own desires or needs. This gay union opens up a whole can of legal worms that others on here have pointed out. +4
  • I think you would find that 99% of conservatives don't care what any two consenting adults do. They can live together, eat together, sleep together, drink together, etc... The problem that conservatives have is the traditional definition of marriage being altered. It's an opinion you can choose to be tolerant or intolerant of.
  • Because they want the government "out of our lives!" and into our pants, apparently.
  • I don't care what you do to each other, but leave the language alone. Marriage already has a definition. Why do you feel the world is so required to change everything just for you?
