I bought a Commodore 64 computer in about 1982 with 64k of RAM. At that time I was taking a computer programing class in a university extension program and the instructor of the class was so impressed with the amount of RAM my computer had that he went out and bought one.

2-16-2017 The first IBM pc cost $3008 with 64k ram and no disk drive. A floppy disk drive cost over a hundred bux. A color monitor and driver card, CGA, 320x200 resolution cost more than the computer. VGA, 640x480 resolution was developed after a few years and initially cost almost $9000.
