Good afternoon Singwell, Rueben Studdard, I would say has one of the best male voices. --- I would have to say "Luther Vandross" was my all time favorite male voice. His love songs just melted my heart. If my man could sing this way, it would definetly drive me to tears and make me love him even more; although I love him very, very much right now.
-
Johnny Cash. There was an incredible resonance, a richness, as well as a roughness to his voice, that complimented each other very well. I've not heard anything else quite like it.

Sorry once again, just can't split them. Contemporary singers - would have to go with: 2 from the British Isles - Tom Jones & Freddy Mercury and 3 from USA, Benny Mardones, Mickey Thomas & the late great Jeff Buckley. I choose all five, not only for the quality of their voices, but they all have the gift of perfect delivery and feeling.

I like Don Henley from the Eagles. I'd say Mark Knopfler, but he really doesn't 'sing' in that sense - more like speaks in melody. But he still sounds good.
