Just one? Too hard a choice.... OK, a sample favorite is definitely the Mallard, ducks are such fun normal simple birds, just friendly and nice. Unlike seabirds.
-
Heres a pic of it.
-
Oh, they're ALL beautiful. Their colors, shapes and sizes and most of all their beautiful chirping. I LOVE them!
-
One with big boobs...hahaha Nah probably a woodpecker or a robin.
-
The Common Loon. I love falling asleep to them.

I would have to go with a Bluejay, even tho' I like cardinals just as much. I used to have a family of each living around my backyard and the colors were great.
-
Hummingbirds. So small and colorful. I find them fascinating.
-
http://www.ascabird.org/albino3.jpg It is a rare albino cardinal. The picture shows a pink one and a blue one.
-
I'm not keen on little feathered beakies, I think I was scarred for life by the Hitchcock film! However, given the choice I guess I rather like the common old Aussie Magpie - even though the buggers are a health hazard in nesting season - but their carolling is superb.

I love birds and spend a lot of time birdwatching and raising many kinds, from chickens and parrots to ducks and hawks. There are various forms of Australian parrots that are delightful including lorikeets, galahs and cockatoos. I love the sulphur crested cockatoos. They are cheeky and opportunistic, but you can have such relationships with them. The same with Aussie magpies. THey are sooo clever. You can get them to come and take food from your hand. We had some that used to wake us up in the morning, if we had not come down to feed them. Others would "knock" at the door. They can recognise whistled tunes and will come immediately.
-
My fav bird would have to be the Hornbills. They just facinate me.I always stop when I see them to show them to my guest on safari. The sounds they make and just the way they behave is so great to watch and its rewarding too at times.

Cardinals. They have a wide variety of songs; they (the male, anyway) are the most amazing red color, with a splendid topknot. We don't have them where I live, and I miss them. Sometimes I hear mockingbirds singing cardinal songs.
-
Ravens (Not crows!) and owls, they're so creepy and pretty. The Snowy Owl is also one of the most beautiful birds ever. I saw one in real life, and boy are they big. So are ravens, when I was in Manitoba there were some ravens, and I swear looking at them fly in the sky, you could mistake it for an eagle, they're so BIG.
