I would have to say 9/11. My Dad worked/works in Washington, my Aunt worked in the twin towers. I'm in California. Both of them were fine, but that call I got from a friend early that morning when it happened, I'll never forget. The sight of my Mom standing in the living room starring at the TV in absolute horror and shock is also something I'll never forget. And the 3 hours that I couldn't get a phone call through to my Dad was probably the longest 3 hours of my life.
