Both of those comments are true but there are many other things as well that could cause spotting. Tapeworms, for one cause spotting. The previous night horrible bowel problems could have had bleeding, but regardless, your cat needs to go to the vet ASAP just to be safe cause we DO NOT take chances with our loved ones!
