Yes, it needs to be greased or the food will stick. That causes waste of food and harder cleanup. But you could try using waxed paper, I guess.

Pam. it's just faster and easier.

Spread it with butter; it makes for a great crust often. Pam is just too chemical and ick.

Yes, I use Pam or oil or butter, though it's supposedly not needed with some of my cookware. It's just extra insurance against sticking.
