  • Call DMV - or AAA if you have AAA. Request a new set of tags along with the month tag (if they have such). There may be some going to DMV with the plate for them to look at it, but other than that you should have new stickers to 'fix' the error. Old stickers are a bit difficult to remove. Rarely can one remove it whole - they are made to be difficult to remove to prevent theft.
  • Call DMV and ask. You may need to get new ones. The stickers are designed to be exceptionally difficult to remmove whole: They will tend to break up and tear if you try to peal them off. You CAN get them off if you work at it. But they may not adhere well again. At worse, you can simply leave them as is. Very few will notice, and even if an officer notices, as long as they aren't expired he's not likely to say anything (unless they are expired), except maybe to tell you about it and recommend you fix it.
  • I did the same thing last night, twice, before realizing it! I hate when that happens, just wasn't paying attention, and now it looks silly. Thanks for the answers!
  • Just leave it alone. be sure to carry your auto registration in your car, in case you are stopped by the police. This was not intentional act by you and the police will understand this. just show your paperwork and explain.
  • Check with your DMV as to what to do but do something because some cop will use it as an excuse to up his quota.
