  • The short answer: do not get pregnant by him, or anyone else, until you are in a position to provide for the life your pregnancy would ultimately yield. The long answer: there are reasons to engage in sexual intimacy in addition to creating life. Just one reason is that it is enjoyable. But I would ask the guy why he wants to create life through intercourse with you, and what his plans are to provide for that new life. Sadly, way too many guys (and I'm one) like to have sex and will do/say anything to get a female to let him have sex with her, including saying what he thinks the girl wants to hear. But his sweet sayings will mean nothing if he abandons you and the child when he finds out a child is on its way. In addition to this, in most developed cultures the "saddling" (sorry to use that word) of a young couple with a child before both people in that couple have completed a certain level of schooling (high school, college) which equips them to support themselves and a family inevitably turns out to be disasterous for all involved, including the child, who had no input into the intentional decisions made that resulted in these circumstances. If you, or your guy, are going to use your reproductive ability to bring life into this world, then beginning right now, even before doing the deed that might start the ball rolling for this new child, you both need to be concerned mostly for this new child, her/his well-being, her/his provision, her/his future.
