  • Not harsh enough.
  • Fair, you have to keep control:)
  • I don't have TV, and I can't view videos on dial-up, but it seems to me that, being as how this is America, the freedom of speech still applies to everyone. Why is he in touble? +5
  • Fair enough...he should've known better
  • To harsh
  • Fair. What kind of message would "House votes not to admonish Wilson" send? A bad one, that's what kind.
  • He clearly did the wrong thing.I can not say he should not be punished. I still wish we could get past all the partisan BS and help the working people. Do any of them care about us? They never stop attacking each other. They should be working on improving the Economy.
  • What the heck does admonish mean?? Drawn and quartered? Bronze statue?? Did Obama get admonished for calling President Clinton a bald face liar?? Did the Dems get admonished for heckling Bush at his congressional speeches?? Since when is an opinion cause for concern let alone admonishment?? Sheesh!
  • harsh there were others before that did simlar things and got away with it
  • We should all be scared
  • Fair...but they need to get a move-on! If they just keep getting bogged down in little incidents, instead of discussing the issue at hand (health care reform), it'll never get done.
  • Well, Obama shouldn't have accepted his apology in the first place, so I guess it's fine with me. He should at least be taught how to play Congressman like everyone else.
  • Completely fair, he did apologize to the President but did not apologize to the house. Please check the Republicans own rules of decorum which state in part: Basic Training: Decorum & Civility in the House The Origins of the Decorum Rules The Rules of the House give the Speaker broad authority to maintain decorum in the House. Much of this authority is codified in Rule XVII, but is also contained in Jefferson’s Manual, which is incorporated by reference into the Rules of the House. The Rules, when combined with the principles described in Jefferson’s Manual and the precedents of the House form the basis of the decorum rules in the House. The intent is to provide an atmosphere where the Members of the House debate the legislative issues before them, rather than engaging in “personality” by characterizing the actions of another Member or showing disrespect to the institution.
  • Fair or harsh is, respectfully, not relevant. This is what these dickweeds do (In this particular case the democrats, but it is not party specific) in order to distract "us" from how inept and corrupt they are. No matter what happens to Wilson (either way, I do not care) these idiots will continue to mess up our lives.
  • expected
  • I think it takes too much time and more of our taxpayer money. Have the House Speaker or Vice President speak to him about maintaining protocol, so he isn't a disruption. He can say things like that outside the chambers. +5
  • FAIR ... If he agreed or not; he should show the President RESPECT as an example, at least to other countries that we are and CAN get along among ourselves .... +5
  • Fair or harsh, it's hypocritical. It's not as if a HUGE chunk of the House wasn't guilty of pulling similar cr*p with G.W. bush during his 2005 State of the Union address. And how many people were "admonished" over THAT? ZERO. They will admonish people where there is political advantage, not for fairness.
  • Not harsh enough
  • Fair enough...
  • last time I checked it's not a crime to speak ones mind... thats what freedom of speech is for...you can't yell fire in a crowded theater... But if your angry any you know it you should be able to say what you want...In Canada people heckle eachother in parliment and sometimes they have to apologize...it depends on the agreed apoun rules... So what are the rules in this case...if Rep. Wilson broke the rules then the system will take care of itself....Opinion talk-show host Glenn Beck warned about people being punished for oposing the president....But then didn't Obama just call a police officer stupid...but then he apoligized... mabye Rep. Wilson should have a beer with the president to smooth things over... but in the end it's the voters who should be punishing or "Admonishing" Rep. Wilson... Just a objective opinion from your neighbour to the North
  • It is appropriate.
  • They are all out of line, he did nothing wrong.
  • While I am ambivalent as to whether Rep. Wilson did anything wrong in the first place (more on that later), I believe he apologized and the apology was accepted. Any action on the part of the House or Congress at this point is meddling at best and grandstanding at the worst. And of course obscenely partisan and hypocritical. . The notion that a man must be silent during a speech by anyone is not American. It is rude to interrupt, but it is no more than rude. There are people in the House and in Congress who took bribes, refused to pay taxes on income, and one recently dead person who left his girlfriend to drown. . And this is something that requires a vote for admonishment, this is something worth spending time on when our economy is in shambles, when the president is demanding a health plan that will affect a sixth of our economy, when we are losing the war in Afghanistan, THIS is what our elected officials think is the most important thing on their to do list? . I think it is exceedingly clear that their actions here are venal and worthy of contempt. . And by the way, I felt the same way when various pieces of the legislature and judiciary saw fit to castigate Bill Clinton over an all-too-common human lapse. It was a partisan act of bad faith covered in an oily veneer of false sanctimony.
  • Overly harsh. The Man apologised and Obama accepted it. let it go. And for the Bu$h-lusters: Where and when did someone do the same for Bu$h?
  • Obama wasnt lying. it was the papers he was presenting that held the false statements.
  • If this standard was in place when GWB was in office there would have been allot of admonishing,
  • Freedom of Speech. He should not be punished at all because he has a right to protest just like any other American.
