  • Vaseline is a great moisturizer for your face and also other dry/crusty/flakey skin areas of elbows and knees. The high dollar moisturizer creams that can totally wipe out your lunch money for a week are usually petroleum jelly, like Vaseline, with a softener emulsion and a little smellgood dust mixed in so save your money and just buy the Vaseline. . p.s.- The good moisture holding ability of petroleum jelly that is a good thing for areas of the skin where it will be frequently washed away and replaced with a new application makes it a not-so-good thing in places where it could hold on to dead skin cells and create a place for germs and infections to develop. In short, it is not a good coochie lube so don't use it for that.
  • I've found that it works well on my face. I use it in winter to relieve windburn. However, I've found that as a lip balm, it dries my lips out even more. So for lips, I'd recommend a petroleum-free product.
