No. You can put it on an application but people have the right to not answer the question and the employer cannot hold that against you. You are not allowed to ask for age in an interview or directly on an application, but the employer is allowed to make sure that the employee is of legal age to work at their establishment. So, a better way would be to ask if the person is at least 18 or 21.

Yes. it is only ok for men not for women..
-
Yes its ok but some women dont feel comfy in telling you their age. I dont have hangups over my age. I am living my life and deserve every single year thats getting added on!!
-
Sometimes yes and sometimes no - depending on situation, who is asking, and who is being asked. (For example it is usually not appropriate to ask a woman who looks over 30, what her age is - even if it's a relevant question that just came up in the context of the conversation.)
-
yes i think its ok,but some others might think not
-
It is okay with guys but not with gals.
-
It is not against the Law in the UK.
-
Yea, theres no such thing as time anyway.
-
Yea,why is it a problem in yours. What we dont do is to ask a lady her age that is concidered bad manners
-
Legally yes, though it is considered impolite to ask a woman her age.
-
In the UK you wouldn't have a problem asking anyone under the age of say 25-30 their age. Beyond that asking a woman her age is bad manners, although I think you'd rarely find someone who'd be really offended by it. It's more likely that someone else would make a joke about it being rude. The question is more often than not prefaced by "If you don't mind my asking..."
-
You can always ask anything. Whether you get an answer is something else.
-
asking females their age is considered as a bad habbit in India
-
well, I guess, but generally people dont......
-
Yes.. Although I am in England and here it is considered impolite to ask a woman's age. Mind you, I think it is more impolite to ask a person to guess someone's age... happened to me countless times when working in restaurants.

-
Yes, depending on who it is and why you are asking.
-
Men don't have a problem, some women I know might say that they don't tell their age.
-
Yes. Though traditionally You shouldn't ask women about it. . They are afraid to be taken for oldies. You know the "28 is middle aged, 32 is a grandma" rule. :)
-
No, I've noticing now that even men are secretive about their age.
-
Yep, and equally OK to lie :-)
-
i think so infact i was asked my age yesterday on way home from gym
-
some people do but then they'll just tell you that they're younger than your grandparents and older than you. (duh!)
-
