Yes. the Athlete's Foot fungus (Tinea pedis) can readily spread to other areas of the body, especially the groin where it becomes "Jock Itch" (Tinea cruris). The same fungus can also manifest as Ring Worm, which is a more general infection that can infect almost any part of the body, even getting in the blood stream in extreme cases. Ring Worm will manifest as a characteristic ring shaped red rash. It is non life-threatening, even in extreme cases, and can be treated with over-the-counter anti-fungal medication. you must remember to FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE ENTIRE TREATMENT. The rash will disappear within a week or two, but the infection will usually return quickly if not treated for the whole 4 weeks.
