Based on what my dad (who held a Master's Degree in botany) told me, none of the above. In order for something to be considered a nut, it must form as a seed with a hardened shell that forms without a separate husk. None of these fits the definition. the peanut actually is a legume (seed that forms in a pod; beans and peas also belong to this family). The rest form inside of a husk that then opens to reveal the seed. Some actual examples of nuts are hazelnuts and acorns (oaks).

well i would have said brazil nuts, walnuts and peanuts cause they all got the word "nut" in them but don't think that's right....lol just my reasoning

i know peanuts & almonds aren't nuts. i'm not sure on the other ones.
