I can forgive typos, but people who don't know how to spell simple words bothers me.

No so much, but misspelling and crazy abbreviating are bothersome. There's going to be a whole generation of folks who can't spell or write a letter.

Everyone makes typos at one time or another. What I think is a tragedy is how some people can't read, can't write, and there grammar is atrocious! I tutor people to read when I can. I would encourage anyone who has trouble reading, writing, or spelling to contact their local literacy council.

they bother me...mostly if I am typing something...I cannot leave the error if I see it. It is irritating to not correct it.

Other people's typos don't bother me. Some are kind of fun to decipher. My typos bother me.

Not as much as bother. Just that, if the person does too many of them, (not on purpose) I might start to reconsider, whether it has any sense to talk with the person about any serious topic.
