Just because their marriage is changing doesn't mean they should lose their friends. Being supportive doesn't mean picking one side over the other. DO NOT bad-mouth the estranged, no matter how tempting it may be. "Recently" could mean there's a possiblity of reconciliation, and it could make your friendship awkward later on if you voice nasty opinions of him. Sure, you can express your ire at his actions (if ire is justified), but don't criticize the past or his personal attributes.
