  • Your voice color is what it is, based on specific laryngeal construction and anatomical traits. That's like asking how to change your skin color -- it's what you are genetically born with. You should not try to change it. However, by singing darker vowels, or by altering the position of your larynx up or down, you CAN alter the color to a certain point. Lower larynx = darker, richer sound, raised larynx = lighter sound. Generally a marginally low larynx produces your natural color, giving you the richest sound that your voice can healthily achieve. You can make it sound different if you really want to, but at a price: you sacrifice vocal health in doing so!!!
