This seems to be more a philosophic statement than a medical one. It is extremely pessimistic. Is your father depressed?
-
Yes, I'd agree with that i thought of that myself. +5

Neko,, you sound concerned, dont be , what your Dad means from the time we are born we get older a natural process, some people live to hundred years or more some do die younger perhaps because of accidents sicknesses etc, but most if we look after ourselves dont drink too much have a good diet and dont use drugs , can live for a long time.
-
No you start to die the moment you are conceived!
-
while its true and i dont think anyone can dispute that- i think its an unhealthy way of veiwing life. we also start living as soon as were born
-
100% truth
-
Not the minute after, the minute that we are born.
-
Your dad was right, from the moment of birth you are physically on your way toward eventual death.
-
I totally disagree! Body systems for the most part don't start going downhill until approximately thirty years old.
-
That is a one way of looking at it, a valid one at that. If this life was all there is, then we might just want to eat, drink, and be merry. http://bible.cc/1_corinthians/15-32.htm That is not the way it was in the beginning, nor is that the way it was meant to be. http://bible.cc/psalms/51-5.htm http://bible.cc/romans/5-12.htm You might enjoy this article. http://www.watchtower.org/e/20071115/article_02.htm

It's true for pessimists! :D
-
Since no one lives forever, your father is correct technically. But so what? It's just a matter of perspective.
-
Your dad is absoultely right! He could be even more right by telling you we die from the moment of conception.
-
Life is a journey from womb to tomb. What you make of the journey is up to you.
-
He's 9 months off
-
No, death begins around age 20.
-
Yep. Everything that breathes, is dying right now. This questions reminds me of some thing Deepak Chopra once said: "Every one of us is on death row. We just don't know when our number will be up." +5

I believe it is after 25ish years. You body stops producing so much and starts to make less and less. Imperfect cell reproduction leads to our aging and older appearance. So, I wouldn't say right after birth since you still grow up then.
-
Scary and kind of a depressing way to put it, but yeah I would agree
-
I believe you start to die the minute you are born....lets just hope it is a long and prosperous life.
-
No, you're still growing. Once you reach adulthood you start to degenerate.
-
no, he was being ironic
-
NO...we start to died the second we draw our first breath!!! We are born to die & it's just a matter of learning when that moment will be. There is NO pessimism attached to it. It's a fact of life & for that reason, I choose to live my life to its fullest!!! 😇

you are dying from the moment your born every minuate that passes is a minuate closer to your death. Does it matter not one bit.
