Food that has little seasoning. That's what they serve at hospitals that make food taste horrible. We are used to all sorts of spices and hot sauces,so bland foods are not interesting to our palates.

The blandest food that I've tasted was in Vietnam called chao. It's a rice congee and is given to people that are sick or wounded (and also eaten at death anniversary ceremonies, where it's offered to the spirits of one's ancestor. Your fingernails offer a more hardy meal. :-)
