I must confess,..it is "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid". Yeah, I know it is mostly pure entertainment, but I still love it after all these years. And it does have some real history in it.

It is hard to say for sure. I like Alan Ladd in "Shane" because we had to study the book in English class at school.Shane was an iconic good guy who was basically trying to leave his violent past behind him. Another good western is Gary Cooper in "High Noon."I am told that the flim is not really about the American West, but about the McCarthy Witch Hunts.

sorry for the change but there is one movie that comes before the last of the mohicans and dances with wolves. "The Last of the Dogmen" is my favorite movie, it's been many many years since i've seen that movie, probably explains why i totally forgot about it. We're still hoping to get a copy of that movie one day since we've been unable to get a copy from regular music, dvd stores, apologies for the change :)
