  • No..or pets..:)
  • I think it depends on their age and how long they are in the car alone. My mom would leave my sister and I alone in the car when we were younger while she was shopping. I was only six, but my sister was twelve and pretty responsible. As for ten year olds and younger -- not unless they are in your line of vision.
  • It depends on quite a few things. How old they are, how mature they are. If the car is locked. If the A/C is on. If the windows are up or down, and of course, if it is at night and possibly more dangerous or during the heat of the day. Oh, the possibilities!
  • Only if it's in the trunk. +3
  • I really think it depends on the age of the kid. If the child is too young to be left alone at home, then I would say no, it isn't appropriate. Sometimes my son chooses to stay in the car if I'm going to run into the grocery for something quick. However, he is old enough to decide if he's too hot, too cold, wants to come into the store and find me or something. Normally, he's reading or playing his Nintendo DS.
  • It depends on the age. I wouldn't leave any child under the age of 13 in the car to be quite honest.
  • sure is, especially on hot days and with the window up.
  • no, one should never do that if he is leaving the car for sufficient time!
  • OH NO! Leave a 17 yr old in a car and he/she might turn on the radio and we all know what that can lead to.... listening to 'devil worshiping music".. A boy and girl might...well, you know.. and two boys might..well YOU KNOW!..and two girls might WOW!! EVERYONE KNOWS! Judgment goes a long way. Nobody thinks its OK to leave an infant in a car when it's 120 out, but they still do it. Go figure.. I don't think most people who do that even do it intentionally. Hell, I forget all kinds of things so I'm glad i have no infants to worry about forgetting now days because i might forget one..a 17 yrs old I might forget just because i can. ;)
  • hell no i called the police on this crap before.
  • Only if you feel they are mature enough to give them the keys. If they aren't mature enough to not worry you when they have the keys. They aren't mature enough to be left alone.
  • for extremely short periods... sure in an ideal world there would never be a need, but not only do we not live in an ideal world, we do not live in a tollerable world. in an ideal world children would not be spending their lives in daycare as both their parents worked their knuckles to the bone just so they could afford to stay broke.
  • depends...on the weather, the age and developmental functioning of the child, the location (the hood, your driveway, the mall), the length of time, child's trustworthiness, child's ability to respond to things responsibly, etc.
  • Well, no. I remember this one time me and my brother were left unattended and in a span of five minutes my brother took the car off of park and we almost backed into the highway o.O
  • Only if the kid's a lil' goat. (Wait, NO!! DON'T EAT THAT!!) Well, maybe not even then...
  • ONLY and absolutely ONLY when they are old enough to be able to get themselves out themselves, and navigate traffic safely. There's no "correct age".
  • I was going to say, "When they're old enough to drive," but that's probably the worst time of all.
