  • Ha! Good point. I'll trust the aeronautical engineers on that one.
  • There is no reason why God can't inspire a Christian aeronautical engineer. There is such a thing.
  • I'm not a big fan of faith-based technologies.
  • I'll take the earth's design over the Airbus design that resulted in the death of 228 people after leaving Brazil, most of whom have a watery grave at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. EDIT: with plane crashes killing everyone aboard averaging about 1 every 10-14 days, I think I'll stick with the person that designed the atom. In fact, I'll take the guys and gals who designed buses and trains. At least their crashes don't usually kill everybody aboard. • Engineers. Because engineers have to be vetted by competent folks who are held accountable. A "God" inspired person would denigrate any inquiry into their abilities with a denunciation that anyone who dared to question them was motivated by the devil.
  • I would prefer the latter one; the one that was inspired by God. The reason being that the one designed by engineers would actually get off the ground, and an airborne aircraft can crash.
  • Can't it be built by a scientist who has a heart for God? If you are a scientist it doesn't mean you can't believe in God
  • Science comes from God, and God created science so the engineers would be inspired by God through studing the principals of science which God has made.
  • Another dumb question filling up space on Answerbag. Obviously, engineers would be the favored choice here. Regardless if religion is in the picture or not.
  • Nice try, but no cigar. I would board an airplane designed by a competent engineer of any religion. A Christian engineer has the advantages of offering life and hope to lost sinners and of going to meet Jesus when he dies. (sp. principles)
  • If gawd was SOO inspiring he/she/it would be inspiring us to not so much as question these things in the first place. To say it's satan is just a cop out too.. Gawd either inspires or he doesn't. He doesn't just say, "What the hell.. I'll leave it up to santa err satan to pick this time. I'm tired of inspiring today."
  • I'll go with the designer of the Monarch butterfly which successfully migrates up to 1,800 miles, from Canada to Mexico, with a brain the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen.
  • Genius has been described as 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. The engineers put a lot of hard work in to the design of an airplane. But where do you suppose the inspiration came from?
  • Hmmm, I think I'll choose C, both.
  • It was God who set the principles by which the engineers build aircraft. the principles of gravity, air pressure, all the basics. Engineers are in fact obeying God's basic laws.
  • The inspiration of God has nothing to do with building airplanes but I would imagine God inspired Christians may have helped build some at one time or another using scientific principles.
  • Assuming that the person were truly inspired of God, then I would take the plane that was ultimately designed by He who created the universe. However, it would take some significant convincing to get me to believe that the person was truly inspired of God in this if he did not have the more conventional training. That written, on a more basic level, I agree with many of those that have already posted. All truth comes from God. So, the knowledge used by engineers to build airplanes all ultimately come from Him. Therefore, on a fundamental level we can say that they ARE inspired of God.
  • One based on the principles of science.
  • One based on principals of science, obviously.
  • I have been an aircraft mechanic for over thirty years. I will take one based on scientific principles over inspiration any time.
  • One by engineers. The god person would build a plane without any safety features because they have faith in God instead. I wouldn't trust a god inspired person with my life. They have already proven to be unreliable and foolish.
