  • Atheists attack anything that goes against the thought process, but most atheists live in Christian countries so I guess that's why, but in reality we treat both religions with the same disrespect that they deserve.
  • They don't wanna die!
  • not true, go look at some threads
  • Generally, Muslims leave us alone. They know what being annoyed by self-righteous Christians feels like, and they don't cause that aggravation to other people. It's all about Coexisting.
  • That is a big generalisation, but I can see where you are coming from. With all that is going on now, and all the over-the-top political correctness and sensitivity in the West it is a bit of a risk to criticise a Muslim for his beliefs - it just isn't worth being told you are racist, or anti-Arab etc. Mind you.. there are just more Christians on AB and in America etc than Muslims, so of course they will bare the brunt of the 'attacks'... why challenge the minority (who are criticised by some Christians as much as atheists are) when you disagree with the stronger and more vocal majority just as much?
  • Whilst I do not believe in god, I also do not believe in getting a fatwah served against me. Perhaps Christians should become more militant & kill people who don`t believe in their god.
  • It makes sense cause Muslims are a more organized religious group and the exact opposite of Atheists!
  • Oh Honey, my brain can't make the constant blessings that come my way daily. My brain can't make money come from nowhere just when you need it most and with a husband out of work since March and we aren't having money troubles when all I have if a part time job...that's not my brain that's the Lord! My brain can't help me witness miracle after miracle. You think I'm pathetic for what I beleive and I truly don't get where you are coming from BUT we aren't going to change each others minds. I know the Lord moves in my life just like you know he doesn't in yours. I apologize for upseting you if I have...that was never my intention.
  • Because Muslims don't feel the need to justify their choices of a God and a means to reach Him and spread their word, mostly against anyone else's will or desire to hear it. They don't need to "save" anyone else to back their own resolve. They believe because they do... It is a group effort all on its own. Unlike the Christians, they realized that holy wars... Are a waste of time fought one soul at a time. The muslims are picked on politically, not religiously and not as a whole group because only the terroritst are radical and intrusive with their beliefs. Normal Muslim citizens are NOT terrorists.
  • Christians turn the other cheek. Muslims turn the ignition key.
  • God gave us (humans) free will and thus gave us freedom of religion... He has never said we must be Christian or else (as far as I know)... I acknowledge and respect the beliefs of others... I respect their freedom of religous choices... A true Christian, if respecting that God gave us free will, would respect the rights of others... If it makes you happy, then I have no right to make you want otherwise... I'm a Christian by the way... Hope this helps... :D
  • Musims don't tend to push their beliefs on me like Christians do. At least not the ones I talk to.
  • I do attack Muslims, they're beliefs are the worst. Have you seen the Shiite muslims that cut themselves open-as well as their kids-to offer their blood to their god? It's fucking sickening!
  • A few years ago, a conservative talk radio host asked a certain liberal why he attacks Mormonism but not Islam. The liberal responded that Mormons tend to turn the other cheek, but he was afraid of Muslim retaliation. Let me make one thing clear: it is a vocal minority of Muslims which have terrorized the United States. Most Muslims want to escape the prejudices caused by the September 11th attacks.
  • Because Atheists don't live long in Muslim countries? Things that make you say "hmmmmmmm....". <EDIT> For those who don't recognize a joke when you read it, let me point out something kinda neat here: In countries where the government is based upon a theocracy (Christian, Muslim, or otherwise) you will find historically that ANYBODY who speaks out against the established religion has a hard time in many ways. Sometimes only in minor ways, other times by loss of life or imprisonment. You will find examples of this throughout human history. However, the PERCEPTION that Atheists ONLY attack Christians vice Muslims in America comes from the fact that the vast majority of the 300 MILLION people who live here are Christian. Oh, and don't forget that America has a great deal of freedoms protected by law which ALLOWS people to openly protest virtually anything they wish, so long as it's peaceful. And this isn't limited to America, either. So, I rather suspect that the point of view of this question stems from the fact that poster of the question comes from a country which is predominately Christian and has freedoms and laws similar to America (where I'm from). So naturally, Christians would suffer the brunt of such "attacks".
  • When and where this attack happen?
  • I attack any organised religion equally because the world would be a better and much safer place with out organised religion. Christians leave them selves wide open to more attacks because of their big mouths and their hypocritical ways ... now if they kept their bogus teachings to themselves and stopped trying to shove them down everyone elses throats then maybe they wouldn't get attacked as much... but no they just can't help them selves so the attacks will continue until they use their brains and keep their faith to them selves
  • Two separate & distinct reasons, really = 1) Don't know enough about 'em; and 2) Christians by far dig the .223 calibre AR-15, while Muslims favour the much larger thirty calibre AK-47 which many consider to be the finest fully automatic rifle manufactured. Remember that line in "Pulp Fiction" (I think?)? = "When you absolutely, positively must kill every motherfucker in the room, accept no subsitutes!" 3) ;-) - Addendum = I apologize in advance for the above ballistic sterotyping.
  • Are you kidding? What do you think Iraq is all about? If you ask me, Christians got the better end of the deal.
  • Because Muslims know the cost of pushing the cause of a religion and contrary to what you hear on CNN, they're not all that quick to jump on that train.
  • Have you ever seen or heard of a Koran-thumping Muslim? Has a Muslim ever knocked at your door at 8 a.m. on Sunday? Has a Muslim ever threatend your constitutional rights? Has a Muslim ever forced you to pray in school? Has a Muslim ever put a disclaimer sticker on your kids' science books? Has a Muslim ever picked or bombed an abortion clinic or killed an abortion doctor? Has a Muslim ever tried to change your laws? Has a Muslim ever shoved his beliefs down your throat?
  • Three fallacies with this question - first, is that Atheists attack religions: there is a vocal, hate-filled minority in EVERY demographic, period. Second, is that that minority of Atheists that give the rest of us a bad name don't attack all organized religion equally - they do. The attacks between the cultures I see start because both sides want blood, not because of some perverted wish to pick on one demographic. Besides the point, the Christian kingdom seems to be the most ready to pick fights with anyone that doesn't think like them. I've never met a man of Allah that even cared I am an Atheist. I ask questions about Allah, he asks questions about secular multilateralism.
  • Because the Christians have already filled that roll...
  • It's only a guess, but I'm gonna go with "Because unlike the christians, the muslims don't go on line and constantly whine about their false belief that they are constantly under attack".
  • Two words Suicide Bomber.
  • Muslims will attack them.. and not with words. If only they can realize how good they have it and kiss the soil beneath their feet ;)
  • I attack all religions equally, I have no qualms about questioning Islam.
  • Christianity is an easy religion to understand so its easier for the simple minded atheist. Muslims have a much more complicated religion so its more difficult mto bash on them. ;)
  • Because (in my case at least) it is usually Christians who insist on pushing their beliefs in my face, and harassing me. If Muslims do the same, then I would treat them in the same way, however, 99 times out of 100, it is a Christian who is forcing their beliefs on me.
  • I think your question is fundamentally flawed. I am an Atheist, and I don't "attack" Christians, Muslims, or any other religion for that matter. [Ok, well except for the Scientologists--after that Southpark on them, they should be attacked] There seems to be a misconception about atheism. We're not planning how to overthrow your organized religions--most of us don't have grouply week meeting to discuss our disbelief. We simply exist; you go to your church service, we'll be drinking blood marys and mimosas at the bar on the corner.
  • I'm an atheist and I have never attacked anyone for their belief. However, I have never had a Muslim tell me my beliefs are wrong, try to convert me, or tell me that I should believe the same things they do, all of which I've experienced from Christians, some in particularly agressive ways. If you're generalising that Atheists attack Christians, it might be worth pointing out that it works both ways. I'm perfectly happy to respect anybody else's beliefs, as long as they show me the same courtesy and leave me to mine.
  • Do you have any weed?
  • because unless you are an abortion doctor, christians don't kill you ... unlike muslims who will go all jihad on you for even drawing their "prophet"
  • Because the Christians are doing it enough for both groups.
  • Remember that Sal man Rushdie is still under a fatwa and, I think, that there is still a million dollar bounty on him for his Satanic Verses book. Islam is very unsure about itself and many of the clerics feel that they have to severely punish people that disagree with their interpretation of the Koran. But, being an atheist who travels a lot, I feel that I am hard to catch so if I feel the need, I will criticize people of any race, color or creed when I deem it is necessary. It's not my fault that more christians piss me off than Muslims.
  • given enough time muslims will move into my neighborhood, at which point Ill rag on them too. but for now all we get is christians. are you feeling left out of the hate pool or something?
  • I wouldn't call what "some" of the problem atheists say to Christians an attack per se. It's more of an "attempt" at an attack because they run out of ammo after the first shot. Personally, I don't find them to be a problem or even a mild annoyance. With that being said, a lions share of the atheists in AB are actually quite decent.
  • It's safe to criticize Christians. They're scared the Muslims will declare a Fatwa and bomb or otherwise kill them and everyone they know.
  • Because last I checked, Christians were almost 80% of the United States, while Muslims make up less than 1%. As a result, Christians VASTLY outnumber any other religious group, and therefore have the largest percentage of annoying idiots trying to shove their belief systems down everyone else's throats. The Christians are the largest, and as a result the most annoying. Of course they are going to get most of the venom.
  • I'm wondering why there should be attacks of any kind by anyone. There are ways of getting a point across without resorting to a caustic and condescending exchange of words.
  • Maybe it's because "christians" are always attacking them...I have talked with a few athiests...Their main complaint seems to be that "christains are always threatening them with hell-fire. Just because someone is an athiest or agnostic does not mean that they are people without principles or ethics, any more than professing a religion means taht one does have them. I'm a Christian...However, I know that the Bible does not teach eternal torment. In the final analysis, God will determine what our future holds. He says he has put life and death before us. It's up to us to choose.
  • May be because people sometimes like to live longer..
  • thats a big generalization.
  • I know many atheists who enjoy attacking both. It's a sort of hobby for them. +5
  • The assumption in this question is untrue. Very ignorant misconception, almost superstitious!
  • Because your average atheist is a cowardly type who attacks soft targets.
  • They know better as Jeff Dunham's friend Achmed the dead terrorist would kill them.
  • ... where have you been??? ... I have seen them attack most of the religions & philosophies, including Hinduism, Sikhism, Taoism, Buddhism, Wicca, Judaism, and YES, even Islam ...
  • Not so. Athiests are largely responding to attacks by christians. These athiests are not attacking, but respnding / defending. Read more of the Q&A'a. You'll see.
  • lol .. this maybe ? http://www.evilbible.com/Murder.htm
  • I'm thinking that they know that they won't have their throat slit from ear-to-ear by Christians simply because someone doesn't agree with their beliefs or worship their God.
  • What? Muslims are too attacked. They are often accused of being terrorists. Aside from that, Muslims tend to leave people alone about their religious beliefs while many Christians make a point out of telling people they are going to Hell.
  • I don't attack anyone, but I'll argue religion with anyone that wants to argue their god's existence, but being in a country where I am around more christians than muslims the opportunity to debate with muslims is limited. Even on AB there's more christian based questions than muslim. Imo, looking at the big picture, I don't see too much of a difference between muslims and christians as far as the core of their belief goes...so I generally consider all to be deity worshippers and kind of box it all into one generalization. I don't prefer one over the other, they both equally seem false to me.
  • Atheist return the blow - *hit* --> you'll be hit back
  • I attack Islam. - Of these 12 questions of mine that were flagged, which were deservedly so? http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/1824948 - More in my profile. :-D
  • COZ MUSLIMS HAVE PROOF WHILE CHRISTIANS DON'T !!!
  • Flawed premise. All religions are silly, but the noisiest ones attract the most attention.
  • I would say that attack mode is not the normal mode for atheists. We answer questions and point out inconsistencies. Attacks are perceived in the minds of religionists when people disagree with them. It is more likely that the various cults attack each other and atheists are caught in the crossfire.
  • Here I'll do it. Muhammad is a crybaby.
  • Thats a fair question, lets attack them all. Thats only fair.
  • Saying that this country is mostly Christian is a lie. Atheist or people without a belief at all are dominating the country more than us. Atheist are just a bunch of people who want attention and to be rebelious. They wanna be different and get noticed. They attack Christians because it I the Christian God who is convicting them. You're able to do want you want without feeling guilty if you pretend there is no God. I have never known such blind and ignorant people. Just because you think thy your grandpa was an ape doesn't mean you have to be as ignorant as them.
  • ISLAM ALWAYS FIGHTING AGAINST ACCUPATION OR OVER POLITICS NOT RELIGION ...MOSTLY FOREIGN POLICY..US HAS A LOT OF INTREST AND BIG PRESENCE IN THE MIDLEEAST TODAY .
  • Because they WANT to!!!
  • Because nobody kicks a dead dog!
  • Cuz they're dumb
