I really like "Doc Martin" and "Kingdom." Frankly, I like British shows better than American TV.
-
Doctor Who / Red Dwarf outside of SciFi, not exactly English, but I loved Monarch of the Glen (I grew up fairly rural) and Ballykissangel. Liked Prime Suspect. What I like about British TV / entertainment--in huge contrast to American--is that women actually exist beyond a certain age! Not all moms are former models; women beyond middle age actually STAR in British TV, and have characters interesting enough to engage us. In this day & age I still shake my head in wonder at American TV and how narrow are female characters. Thank goodness for Candace Bergin.+++
