There isn't anything I don't like about my own.
-
Their exhausting predictability.
-
When someone invites you over then isn't there.
-
That they exist....;-D...

The woman always ends up getting the man it seems. Or vice versa. I'm going to write on that ends like real romance ends. You don't get shit but hurt feelings, and broken heart, and an ever increasingly used liver.
-
Poor character and plot development. Some authors don't effectively build up the developing romance between two acquaintances, friends, or enemies. Sometimes it seems that the characters just fell in love at a random moment. The reason for the change in their feelings is unclear.
-
They're not happening to me. :( of course, that's because most are formulaic and unrealistic. But still. I miss romance, no need to pour salt on that wound.
-
They always end up with a happy ending, with both people blissfully in love and everything perfect. And that that never happens in real life. It makes me jealous of those fictional characters, sadly.
-
Plot, dialague, cheap sexual encounters that are poorly written, and believability.
-
they're not happening to me.
-
They are written to a format and I the fact that they are all so contrived and you can swap any one for another and not know that it is not the same book or same author. Totally unrealistic.
-
Same story different names different locale. hohum boring.
-
1) The romance 2) The stories
-
Everything.

where do i start, all the same thing, totaly unreal, and the "greatest love story of all" "Romeo and Juliet" is about a crush drunk chick and a dude who wants nothing but to get in her pants. In fact he "falls in love" after seeing her for a split second, right after sayin hell never love any one but Roselin (again just wants to do the do). so i say even tho some i wish could be true *pitooy* on em!
-
Predictability, all have the same format, etc. Everything.
-
I don't like the tragic endings....
-
that they're fiction :(
-
They're so DROLL!
-
I never had the chance to find out if I don't. I only read non fiction.
-
I like stories that involve my imagination and romance novels just don't do that for me nor do they teach me anything new.
-
It is because they are not down to earth and are too unrealistic.
-
Romance can be good if it has a tongue in cheek edge or isn't on of those 'meant for each other' soulmate kind of stories. In general, they are just so formulaic, the dialogue is terrible and if they do have any sex scenes they are always dire. It is possible to write really great romantic stories, but if they are great they are usually classed as general literature instead, because they do the other parts of the story great too. When I was a teenager I loved early Jilly Coopers. No sex, but she had a great sense of humour. I think the most erotic book I ever read was Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks.
-
Schmaltzy overdramatized dialogue gg
-
They are too corny and unrealistic.
-
Nothing.
-
Those stupid romantic dialogues.......everything is so unrealistic, things you may never find in real life.
-
That most of the time the woman isn't older than the man.
-
