I hope so, because I eat a lot of cheap meals...(lol)
-
of course same meal at good place will cost 4times more
-
Why not?
-
Sure.
-
Yup. Macaroni + canned crushed tomatoes + spices + mozzarella = yum.

It's often a better meal because you have to put more thought into it. Lentils, rice, beans, potatoes - in fact any vegetable if you grow it yourself - makes a delicious meal with a bit of experimentation. I set myself a challenge now and then to "invent" a meal just out of what's the cupboard and fridge when the pickings are a bit lean. You don't have to sacrifice flavour or nutrition, you just have to make the effort.Examples: macaroni cheese (add mixed veges and garlic); meatballs(add taco packet flavouring) in tinned tomatoes; chicken soup made from bones;minestrone soup; scones with cheese, onion and bacon; lasagne;crustless quiche; there's millions..

You don't have to spend a lot of money to make (or even go out to a restaurant for) a great meal. Basic good food beats fancy gourmet meals any day in my book.
-
Yeah,McDonalds has it now.*
-
yes definately, it depends how much time, care and love is put into it.
-
You can put Oatmeal & Porridge in a lot of different things. :-)
-
what is cheap? what is good?
-
Ordering out I would say no because you get what you pay for. Making your own food for cheap is easy. get some meat (even whole chickens which are cheap), some vegetables, and rice. All pretty cheap and you can make a stir fry or even shish-ka--bob. Very health and relatively inexpensive. q:)

Of course! That's why I always make my stuff from scratch because not only do you save money on purchasing the material but you also don't have to deal with the exhorbitant ready-made food prices.
-
Of course! my mom actually taught a course on making yummy meals on a budget.
-
Definitely. Shopping at the grocery store is way cheaper than eating out.

I believe so ... Like ; I can go to Olive Garden before 4PM ; eat all the soup, salad, and breadsticks that I want for just $6.95 ... And; I must say that Olive garden does have some delicious soupls and their salads are always VERY crisp ... As far as a cheap meal goes ; we have a Stacy's Buffet. From 1-3:30 PM it only cost $5.99 including the drink . Some delicious foods like on Wednesday is Pot Roast ... ALWAYS the salad bar, several selections of meat and dessert .... eat all ya' want !!

Yes, Hamburger Happy Meal is a fine example. I love 'em! +5

Do you mean eating out, or something to prepare at home? Certainly in the latter case, if you go for things that are in season you can get very good prices without sacrificing quality.
-
Absolutely. Money spent means nothing as long as the ingredients are good quality and you cook for maximum flavors.
-
Most healthy 'good' meals usually work out to be cheaper..so yes Keithold..
-
yep

I always cook at home. And actually it becomes cheaper than eating outside. One of the best things about cooking at home is the confidence of the healthy food. And here is a little suggestion for you to cook at home: http://www.recipesecrets.net/home.html?hop=rsahiner68 Enjoy!!!

Oh yeah, a free meal can be a good meal as well.

I have eaten cheap food many times from roadside eateries on highways in India. Many of the places pay special attention to food preparation, because that is only way they can make sure that place keeps running. If you want to know how good vegetarian food can taste then you should consider visiting India.
