  • It's sure crossed my mind. What better way for Cheney to silence his critics by pointing at a 9/11 repeat next week, saying, "See? Told you I was right. Obama is weak on terrorism. As long as he's the president, get ready for more."
  • So unamerican to do what tey are doing in the conservative media, and hiding behind the flad. "Patriotism is the last outpost of a scoundrel"
  • From what I know of the man, if he could figure out how to make it happen with no chance of him being connected, he'd already have done it.
  • I do agree, the man would love to say I told you so.
  • no ,i do not..but it sounds like he is 'wishing' strongly that it won't, just to prove his point, u understand....if the US is attacked, we will all 'wish' we would of listened to Bush and Cheney about keeping Homeland security and other NECESSARY things up and going.....our DEFENSE'S.. thats a petty, evil ,small attack on Cheney...what does that tell u of Panetta's 'character'. panetta's psychological tactic is just what he wants u to THINK....?
  • I think it's treasonous, if not outright criminal and in extremely poor judgement. The Cheney family should be ashamed of themselves.
  • It makes Cheney look like a traitor and shows that he is willing to put lives at risk to prove a point
  • Dick Cheney had best watch his mouth. He of all people should know the new powers of the president of the United States.
  • For some people politics are everything. Above even family. For shame
  • It's totally irresponsible for Dick (an appropriate first name, since he IS a "dick") Cheney to make such a public statement, even if that's the way he privately feels. He really should go back to shooting Texas attorneys. There are still a few around, whom he missed. +5
  • My guess would be that is kind of like when you have a dog that chases cars. You hope the dog will collide with the car just enough to get really scared and stop chasing them, without getting really hurt. It is probably off base, but you can understand where he is coming from.
  • i think that, that statement, is dead on accurate
  • I don't agree. His comments give me the impression that he is doing everything he knows how to do to get the Obama administration to wake up to what it's doing by releasing all of this information. Even Panetta said that it's release was a mistake. I think the administration is releasing the wrong information. It should be releasing the information on the attempts that were thwarted because of the interogations. Again, Leon Panetta said this in a press conference in May. Obama says that he is open to other opinions and he may be, but he appears to ignore the other opinions as he goes on his merry way.
  • If I may repeat my answer to a similar question. I don't agree. Even Panetta said that it's release was a mistake. I think the administration is releasing the wrong information. • He's probably thinking that might reduce the likelihood of him being tried at the Hague as a war criminal.
  • Strike out "almost".
  • The sad part is that it might happen. Both administrations are wrong. GW and Dickie Cheney did not have to attack Iraq. And Obama does not have to keep proving that it was a mistake. And he should stop being too transparent. The deed is done. Deal with it in the best way possible for the good of Americans. And to answer the Q, yes. It is sweet revenge for "The Dick" to be able to say "I told you so".
  • I guess being a Clinton leftover must make you psychic. And tactless. How does Panetta know what somebody else is (almost) thinking? It's more worthy of Michael Moore than somebody holding a position of responsibility.
  • No, I think it's not Panetta's job to be responding to Cheney on any topic. He should be quiet and do that spy thing he's being paid to do.
  • Almost? 9/11 ring a bell?
