Well, some restaurants have terrible quality food, so, yes, I can make something better than restaurant quality. My mocha tastes better than Corner Bakery mocha.
-
Oh yes. I like to cook from scratch and you can immediatly taste the difference.
-
Yes, I love to cook. +5
-
Only if I lower my standards!
-
Yes, my boyfriend says I am going to put every restaurant out of business, LOL.
-
um... which restaurant did you have in mind? I can pour a mean glass of water... mostly I look at a menu and wonder what i can face eating.
-
That's what I'm told. :) I generally cook from scratch and make up recipes; one of those (Turbo Cookies) always drew a crowd at the library. I always had to make two huge batches of them a day for finals week to see that all the student assistants (and the staff who couldn't help themselves) got their fix, lol!

yeah, my ethnic cuisine (latin, southeast asian, korean, indian, etc.) is restaurant-quality. it helps that i lived with a chef for several years. as for the continental cuisine ~ im very good, but im no 5-star restaurant-quality chef. my friends have often fished for dinner invitations at casa shan.
-
Green salad :P Actually, I grow my own butter lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, so my salads are probably better than a restaurant's. (Fresher ingredients)
-
Yes!Restaurants don`t seem that good any more.Almost everything we cook is better.Steaks,on the grill or in the pan.Fryed chichen, fryed catfish, eggs, spathetti, cakes, cornbeard, pies, etc.
-
Depends on the restaurant :-) Better than Ruby Tuesdays - yes.
-
I can cook better than that and my wife cooks much better than that. Restaurant quality is a pretty low standard for most restaurants.
-
Pizza. Of course, I have to make it in our store if it's going to taste right. :O
-
Yep, grilled cheese sandwich:D
-
I can make almost everythin that way except chinese food, you need a high temp wok and the stove isn't hot enough. Also certain breads need a 600 degree oven
-
I don't get to eat at restauarants much to tell the difference but if my husband eats it all and doesn't complain once I know its good, and he can very critical when it comes to food as he is a Chef.
-
Are you talking about a 1 star or 5 star restaurant?
-
No. I can make it better!
-
A lot of things. My favorites are bacon wrapped fillet mignon stuffed with blue cheese, soft shell crabs and pecan pie. I can make a good burger and hot dog too.
-
I'm not that good and I'm pretty simple in what I cook for myself. Hamburger Helper comes to mind. I can fix that real good.
-
absolutely. The "restaurant quality" secret is 3/fold. 1- no one says "yah i'll be there in a few minutes, when food is served at the perfect temperature on the table-they start eating right away. 2- I don't recall ever seeing a nutritional chart at a nice restaurant, so "it's delicious!!" is not overshadowed by "omg look how many grams of fat are in each serving!!" So it is easy to make all those rich sauces and stuff. 3- very often food is served on warmed stoneware, ever notice that? it keeps the food warm because the stone plate radiates heat keeping the food from getting cold. And nothing beats someone else both cooking&serving food to you. If you can get past all the above, sure you make anything they do, probably better if you took the time to.
-
No I can't and my son says that even the hotdogs at a restaurant are better then mine. HOW can that be??? LOL +5
-
Yes, appetizers, chicken franchese, chicken cordon bleu..sauerbraten
-
According to the hubby it's my Parmesan crusted chicken and my pot roast.
-
No! Hahaha! I can't cook very well. I'd like to learn eventually but it would be a huge project for me to do so.
-
My husband does not even like to go out to eat anymore. Everything I make it better according to him.
-
I can make many things, most things that taste much better than restaurant food, even highclass places.
-
Yes. Get the book that Anthony Boudain, Head Chef at Les Halles, NY) wrote (available used and cheap on Amazon in paperback) and read the chapter about why and how chef prepared food is different than what we do at home. Very enlightening. In fact the whole book is a fun read if you like food and cooking.
-
MUCH BETTER THAN RESTAURANT QUALITY.
-
As others have noted - depends on the restuarant. I cook as well if not better than run of the mill and way better than chain (Applebees, The 99, etc). I would not say I cook better that a five star gourment restuarant.
-
My s/o says my cooking is way better.
-
Oh! Yah ! I make the best eggrolls, and all sorts of stuff from scratch.+4
-
