  • Yes, more need to speak out, and there just needs to be more of them in general. :)
  • No more than anyone else
  • Their lack of doubt. I loss my faith for several years and lived a Stoic, atheistic, Beckett, Sarte, Existential period. But I was never self-righteous. I had doubts. And now as a beleiver , I have doubts. Human life is all about uncertainty. Anyone who claims to know it all is full of horse *&&%
  • I hate Atheists. They should all be stoned to death for not worshipping our imaginary friend Jesus.
  • Not really, I mean as long as they are good people then I have no problem with them. The problems happen when Christians and Atheists collide and try to convince one another to change. It's a lot of wasted energy.
  • Nothing annoys me about anyone except an unwillingness to accept the views of others as valid to them based on their experiences. No one's point of view should ever be attacked, and I do not like to see this on answerbag. How are you, by the way, DeLexicon?
  • their excuses of y they dont have a religion
  • Oh, you WOULDN'T BELIEVE the amount of things I could list. lol jk (Get it?)
  • I have some friends who are athiest, The ones who annoy me are the ones who go out of thier way to challenge my beliefs. I dont force my beliefs in their face so i dont appreciate when they force there lack of in mine. Its common courtesy folks, both sides dont show it on AB
  • Yes, but not half as many as those that annoy me about Christians
  • Only the loud ones yo...
  • That not everyone is one? lol soz :)
  • I have never been annoyed with any atheist. Those I've encountered are level-headed and don't feel the need to challenge anyone's faith. I've rather admired their ability to do good things not seeking any reward in an afterlife, but feeling compassion and a sense of responsibility for the generations that succeed them. I think that shows great courage and a lack of greed we can all learn from.
  • Yeah, their smugness. About being right.
  • just like any other group, only the ones that are assholes.
  • No I haven't. There's good in all ppl and as long as that good comes toward me...my good will come toward you.
  • Sure! Some can proselytize with more vehemence & rancor than the "holy rollers"! ;-)
  • There isn't anything about atheists per se, that annoys me but militant atheism is very annoying. To help clarify my answer, I'll post the following quote by Julian Baggini, a committed "atheist author" which summarizes militant atheism eloquently. "Although …atheism Is not necessarily hostile to religion, there are, of course some atheists who are hostile to religion, and not just fundamentalist religions….Atheism which is actively hostile to religion I would call militant. To be hostile in this sense requires more than just strong disagreement with religion—it requires something verging on hatred and is characterized by a desire to wipe out all forms of religious beliefs. Militant atheists tend to make one or both of two claims that atheists do not. The first is that religion is demonstrably false or nonsense, and the second is that it is usually or always harmful." Thus, militant atheism is driven by a hatred and hostility toward "any kind" of religion -- without distinction. This high level of hostility blinds them to the good religion has done, or is doing, and fails to acknowledge that there is a wide variety of religion expressions ranging from extremist groups (way to many of them), on one side of the belief continuum, to very sincere, loving and service-oriented groups on the other side. (Many more than most people realize) I have carried on conversations in AB with Atheists and most were cordial and some very good points were made, however I have come across a couple with a militant nature. If I see myself getting annoyed by their feeble attempts at using bullying tactics on me, I'll simply break off the conversation and move on. For the most part, the class and character of the Atheists and Christians in AB is at a much higher level than other question/answer forums, and for that I am thankful.
  • they cant make up their minds
  • That they think that they know everything and they seem to be the most hate filled people around.
  • Their "Holier Than Thou" attitude ;-)
  • When they only look at religion as fairy-tales but treat scientific theory as fact or when they refuse to see the wisdom in the bible whether or not they believe in it.
  • No but I will say this. An atheist who mocks someone with a religion and constantly down rate's them for their answers annoys the crap out of me.
  • The Atheists that are pushy about their lack of faith can sometimes be as annoying as the Theists that are pushy about their faith. Aside from that, I take them as individuals. Some are annoying and some are wonderful to be around.
  • Yeah, there aren't enough of us!
  • Nah not really. What I find annoying are jesue people. Nothing against him but those people are just so annoying.
  • I've only became annoyed with one, he asked loads of questions rapidly, and when I asked him one in response, he left the chat room we were in without responding. Dole out the questions all you want, but if you refuse to answer a single one of my own....
  • Only the condescending and arrogant ones are annoying but then condescending and arrogant Christians are just as annoying.
  • Sure, some - but mostly doesn't have anything to do with them being a atheist. Plenty of other reason to be irked at people. +5
  • I am a Christian and I am more annoyed by Christians. I can usually have very productive conversations with atheists. Seems to me that one can't really claim to be either without a bit of thought.
  • yes!!!!! they don't BELIEVE a thing i tell them!!!
