Being a girl who LOVES chick rockers.. I have to say.. Yes. :)
-
I think men and women are equally good rockstars, it just depends on if they are good as a band and who likes them.

I am a huge rock fan and I have to say that gender plays no part in the ability to generate great rock. I think the primary reason that you don't hear more female rockers is that the ratio of male to female lead singers is like 200:1. Therefore, while you see more males producing good music, you also see more males producing crappy rock music. The females you see have taken bold steps to cross the gender boundary. Women like Lacey Mosely (Flyleaf), Amy Lee (Evanescence), and Joplin produced music that was just as good in quality as any male I can think of.

I'm sure that girls and guys both have equal opportunities to be a rock star. Music is a good field for gender equity! Some of the top rock stars of all time are girls, some are guys! There are probably more guys than girls playing in bands, but not all of them are stars, nor are they trying to be.

They make the best groupies.
-
They make better LOOKING rock stars !! :)
-
Better? Nah. I'd just say "different". Certainly many have been leaders in their own genre: Joan Jett Blondie Nina Linda Ronstadt (To name a few)
-
Some, but not just because they are girls. Some worse and not because they are girls. Same with the other gender. +5

No, except for a few Like Tina Turner I think guys do rock better.

No, they don't, and history has proven that with the exception of a few...A Rock Stars life seems to be geared more towards men...Now if you were to ask me if Girls make better pop stars then I would have to at least give you a 90% agreement...
-
They certainly can be, in that it is more appropriate for women to act more flamboyant than men. The thing is that there aren't too many women out there that rock convincingly.
