  • If this is for a new motherboard that you have yet to install, it's going to be in the documentation that came with the motherboard. If you've lost it, you'll need to at least find the motherboard make and model and do a search on the manufacturer's web site. Usually the mobo make and model will be printed on the board someplace. Take note of any printing you find. Some no name boards will just have a strange series of numbers. Use that string to do a search if there's no manufacturer printed on the board. If this is for a motherboard that's installed and up and running, I suggest you download and install a Utility like Everest. When you run it, it will look at all the hardware in the PC and attached to it. The report it generates will ID the motherboard, the type of vid card slot and the type of ram installed and a host of other things. Everest Home is freeware. There is an Ultimate version but it costs.
