  • without a doubt a house, I like to know I can be as noisey as I like and not bother others and I like to have my garden
  • A House or Bungalow , I like to be detatched i hate to hear noise from other apartments.
  • House because I am at least putting a percentage of my monthly living expenses towards the principle instead of just throwing $ at a landlord so he can pay off his investment.
  • I would love to own a house. Right now my finances dictate that I stay in the town house I own. But prospects of shoveling snow and moving lawn has to be kept under consideration.
  • House, because i live in a townhouse right now and its sucks, it would be nice to have my own yard again.
  • A house, because rent can be just as much a mortgage, and you don't even completely have a chance to own the apartment.
  • I like a house. But I live in an apartment because I live in the center of town. I feel much more at home in a house. But this is OK for now.
  • Yes, I prefer living in a house as well. Having a garden makes it even better.
  • I much prefer a house.
  • I would prefer an apartment because all the responsibilities of keeping up a house get to be quite overwhelming with advancing age.
  • House for sure, must have my garden to grow my herbs, also for my pets, plus I control the ground rent!
  • Apartments suck! With a great mighty vacuum rarely found in nature or science! I've lost so much faith in humanity since living in apartments. Half of the inhabitants are rude fools, many in their 30's or 40's with bad cases of arrested adolescence. I can't wait to be able to buy a house! I've seriously considered living in a mud wattle and daub house to get out of apartments because I don't have a quarter of a million dollars. No wonder the housing market is crashing! $300K for a plain ordinary house.
  • I'm renting a house at the moment, got a good deal-even if I do have a shitty land lord. I can blast my music as much as I want and not get the cops called on me :D.
  • I was very happy living in an apartment until I got my pets (wrong way about I know!). Then having even a small backyard for them became my priority. I was fortunate enough to be able to move to a unit with its own private yard. Install one doggie door and voila! Happy pets. No more litter boxes... Happy me!
  • I own my own home. Much better than apartment living. You dont have people above you or attached directly to you on either side.
  • Orown, definetely
  • Own Home I hated apartment living. I could always hear my "neighbors" (above, below, left and right), I had to share the best parking spots, I had to wait for 'maintenance' to fix things, and I was robbed twice. According to the police, both were inside jobs.
  • As a starting family I would prefer an apartment to get bills sorted out, then once the kids grow up and the budget is set I'd like to move into a house.
  • I prefer owning my own home. It's mine. I can do what I want with it. I can make noise without disturbing others. I'm not subject to the whims of either lazy or overzealous landlords. Among other reasons.
  • Home cause its your own! :) And you can decide what you want to do with it...meaning decorate, etc...I like it! :)
  • Appartment, they sound good & look classy
  • There really are advantages to both. I prefer owning my own home. It's mine and I don't have to worry about wanting to change paint colors, putting things on the walls, building a deck...
  • Own house because you are less dependent for repairs and free from noises.
  • I like renting, no outside expenses, no lawn care, no property taxes, if the roof leaks I call the maintenance, if mold is in the home, the owners have to pay to fix it. its just easier to pick up the phone if i have a problem than to wait until I can afford to fix things.
  • Own home, well anything with my own front door really. I'd hate a comunial hallway.
  • there are advantages to both. I would like to own my house so I am not wasting money every month paying for a place that will never be mine but as it is, I am not responsible for the repairs, insurance, having to replace things like frig and stove, mow lawn, etc. It would be nice to have my own house so I don't have to listen to my neigbors bitch about my dog and what he does and when I go to sleep and when I get up, etc but i will never afford a house so renting it is
  • I prefer to own my own home. Vote to keep out the Mexicans or there won't be enough land per person for everyone to own their own home.
  • Home...the privacy. You don't have to worry about disturbing neighbors by walking to loudly or with tv/radio...other things:)...I like having a yard for my dog to play in. More freedom to make changes to my yard/house. It's just better in my opinion!
  • Home. Privacy, equity and tax break.
  • I prefer to rent a apartment. Smaller gas and electric bill and less to clean up.
  • Actually, I much prefer to live in the country, as far out as possible. We're renting right now, but we're getting ready to buy. : )
  • Yes, I do. And a very large yard, with lots of trees. But even if my neighbors were closer, there's a big difference between the noise you can make from a house without disturbing your neighbors as opposed to what you can get away with when you share a common wall.
