  • I'm fighitng cold right now, definitelly couldn't go out and running, would freakin collapse, I drank lots of juice and tea, got my vitamin C, and after 2-3 days i'm starting to feel better, fever is gone, my throat is still hurting though, it hurt so much that I can't swallow my own salive without pain, cause of that I only ate two bowls of chicken soup these last two days.
  • tropicana ornge juice and rest and lots of vitamin c
  • Well, there's a few ways I can think of: My boyfriend combines onions and sugar together, and lets it melt into a fluid, and you drink that. You could also, mix a little wine in your tea with a little honey added, and lemon also. Alot of people tell me that, Airborne really works. And primarily just staying under covers for most of the day. Eating soups you can drink, and just drinking tea alone to helps.
  • It has always helped me to eat lemons, but not everyone likes them. Basically, tons of Vitamin C...
  • G'day Sexy in my mind, Thank you for your question. The best way is plenty of rest and fluids. Don't go to work or school as this will give other people the virus. E-Medicine advises that you should see your doctor if you have these symptoms. * Shaking chills * Profuse sweating * Muscle aches * Nausea * Vomiting * High fever (greater than 102°F) I have attached sources for your reference. • If you're dead, the cold cannot survive.
  • I have a cold right now and i agree everytime i have a cup of Tea or water my nose unblocks for about 1 hour. Sometimes you can't rest because you are busy. My Nan normally says the rest only helps if you have a really bad cold. People can't have a whole days rest just for a cold. She tells me to get on with what i need to do and if you keep busy the odd occasion have a 5 minute rest, you forget all about the cold. But if you rest, your mind is always on the cold. So you always feel worse than it actually is. So instead of having the day off, maybe just go in for abit then come home and get on with some work at home. It works for me!!
  • I got A Cold Right Now, My Nose Is Blocked My Throat Is Scratchy I can't Even Swollow My own Saliva, BUT My Nan To Me To Do As Much As Possible, And As I Have 10 Horses Then You Can Tell I'm Really Busy Anyways But I'm Trying To Forget About My Cold And Just get On With What I Normally Do, And That's Worked GreatFor Me. So If You A Busy Person With A COld Carry On If Not Do Something BUSY. .xx Cheeers To Everyone That has commented and given me more advice , nely .xxx

  • Hot Toddy works every time:)
  • one glass of wine has more than double the antioxidants of an orange, plus chocolate has more than double the antioxidants than fruit...so my suggestion is to drink wine and eat chocolate.
  • Best way: Don't get one. Wash your hands, use hand sanitizer and avoid contact with people who have colds. Were warm clothing, get plenty of sleep, and take vitamin C.
  • For congestion, take in lots of steam (hot showers, hot tea/juice/milk, Vicks (but not for children) on your chest, run a vaporizer in your room. My friend from China said to boil an apple, mush it up, and eat it. She said that this helps you to recover in a matter of days. For a cough, drink lots of water, juice, tea. Suck on hard candies. I heard recently that cough drops don't really help to get rid of a cough. For me this is still inconclusive, but I heard that probiotics (eating active cultures as in yogurt) helps to prevent and lessen the effects of a cold. Although, it is good for digestion and increasing your metabolism. This is a good question because recent reports say that over-the-counter drugs don't really help us to recover from colds, especially in young children. I can imagine that overuse of OTCs can possibly damage your liver.
  • I would say a combination of what other people have said. I usually take a warm shower, drink some vitamin C and get plenty of sleep.
  • Drink lots of fluids, rest when you can, eat lightly and nutritiously, avoid dairy. Medicine only deals with the symptoms, it doesn't help you to fight the cold/flush the virus out. • Believe it or not....I know you have heard it before....but it honestly does work if you make it yourself and not open a can and expect it to do the job....CHICKEN SOUP!! Cook bones and all and when almost done add all the veggies you want it will take about 2 hours of cooking. Don't forget to put in lots of garlic and onion....that is the best part and garlic is a natural antibiotic....hope you feel better very soon.

  • 5-30-2017 If you do nothing, a cold drags on for about two weeks. But there are some home remedies that will knock it out in as little as two weeks. The only good way to fight a cold is don't get one. A cold follows a blue spell by about two weeks, and you can decide not to be blue, so you can decide not to have a cold. Some people scoff at my suggestion that you can decide not to be blue. That's ok, they are free to go on having colds.
  • Ebay, Craiglist, Letgo..... any of those.
  • Vitamin C & lots of rest!
