Also, there are a number of Deputy Whips and Regional Whips that are technically considered leadership positions. Finally, the heads of the party campaign committees in both the House and Senate are often treated as members of the leadership (and effectively hold that level of clout). Senate side: The President of the Senate (also the VP of the U.S.) The President Pro Tempore (senior member of the majority party) The Majority Leader The Minority Leader Democratic Conference Chair Republican Conference Chair And, as in the House, Committee Chairs and Ranking Minority Members are considered to hold leadership positions, as are the chairs of the party campaign committees.
