  • I don't think they would kick you out. You might try to order a little something though like an appetizer or salad, or say "We've eaten dinner, but plan to join them for dessert." Or something like that.
  • Only the tackiest place would ever do that. I wouldn't worry about it. The other people might feel a bit wierd though when they're sitting there eating and you're just sitting there so you might want to come up with a story other than not being able to afford to order anything. Maybe order a soda and say that you just ate but wanted to be there for your friend.
  • Depends on the restaurants minimum seating rules. Mabye the other two people could order a pepsi or something?
  • I don't think so. There might be cheaper things on the menu, though.
  • They probably wouldn't kick you out but you might consider whether you are being crude and inconsiderate. The business is a service establishment, in the business of serving food and drink, not a public social hall. You're taking up time, space and effort and giving nothing in return. Why not socialize somewhere else?
  • No place will turn down a drink order. That's the gravy train! Eat at home, then play tag-a-long. Do spend something, though, that seat costs.
  • Get a drink or two and tip the waiter well. No worries.
  • but out of courtesy, all people realizing this could chip in so they would have something to eat. Common courtesy. If they don't know then, however, better to borrow a little from another friend so there wouldn't be that situation.
  • No I don't really think they will kick you out.
  • this is a friend of yours right, so tell them your situatuion because a friends will understand. Maybe he can go over to your place or yall can meet somewhere else another time and place. or maybe you can just order dessert
  • no they definetly wont kick you out as long as its not a regular thing lol i agree with at least order a drink and prehaps a dessert if you can streath to it? just mainly for the rest of the party. i dont like people watching me eat but if you have a small side dish it wouldnt look quite so bad! :-)
  • No. They just won't.
  • Order a cup of coffee.
  • It is doubtful that they would. And if your friends are polite, they won't make a big deal out of it either. I would stick with ordering a Salad, or a Desert at the end of the meal. Of course a Beverage, coffee, tea, soda would also be a good idea. I wouldn't bother to order booze...it costs a lot more out, than at home. Don't whine to other friends there about your financial situation, and don't feel guilty for knowing that your wallet has limits. Good for you for wanting to share some quality time enjoying the fellowship and honoring the Birthday guy!
  • Lol I wish this would happen to me! I would have a field day on this restaurant.
