I wake at 6am, start work at 7, and not at my best till 9 , so 3 hours.

Well since I need to get dressed in ten minutes I would say about 3 minutes.

It all depends on your emotions. If you are exited when you wake up and know you have fun things to get on with and no time to lose then you wake up almost instantly. If you do not really want to get up but have to and it feels like a big challenge and you have to force yourself out of bed because the bed is so warm and confortable and its so cold out of it then it can take hours.

I suppose I'm still running on "military time," since I wake up at about 5 AM, fully awake and alert. Then I usually tell myself to get over it, and go back to sleep. : )

My brain usually works pretty quick after I wake up, but, as a sufferer of chronic pain, it takes a minimum of 3 to 4 hours before my "broke-down" body can limber up enough to function. It's one reason why I can't have any morning appointments for anything.
