If you mean a bad attitude, it can keep you from getting a job or get you fired from one, it can make people keep their distance from you and it can keep you from having friends or losing the friends you've got, it can keep you from meeting the love of your life and probably a million other things I haven't listed.

The moment you think you are the doer it makes everything your own doing and the responsibility lies with you of the outcome!But the moment you let the Universe/God/Whatever that you may believe in or not, then the onus of doership does not lie with you!Then the outcome is also not in your hands.

Someone with the 'wrong attitude' to everything has a psychological problem and may be helped with counselling. I do not believe that balanced people have a wrong attitude to such an extent that it leads them into poverty. Those who arrive on the streets due to their own actions usually have psychiatric disturbances and perhaps with treatment could lead normal lives. However, I do know people who believe they are capable of running a business when they have neither the experience or the knowledge and every business they have touched has ended in disaster. Both of these people lack 'education', 'knowledge' and have the wrong measure of their capabilities. They see others doing it and think that they can do the same without any thought as to how those people arrived at running business, how they started out or how they hold onto it.

No one likes to be around negative people, or complainers..no one. So opportunities won't be offered to such people. In addition, a lousy,negative attitude overtakes the person to the extent that he/she wouldn't know an opportunity if it smacked them in the face. You plant your garden and either water it and remove the weeds or you let it sit there and die. It's up to you. Your choice. The world does not owe you a living. You owe the world being a useful member in it. Realize that and you'll be fine. :)

The "wrong" attitude can make one blind to new ideas or ways to improvement themself. So it can be a great hinderance to becoming the best you can be. That's always a waste!

People in jails and prisons have attitudes that are down right destructive. Women in abusive relationships who have the attitude thetes no whete else to go or that the guy didnt mean it have self-destructive attitudes.
